How to Set a Timer on your GVC2 Controller |
Considerations |
This covers all of the steps to set and modify a Timer |
Timers are set for when you want the machine off |
Timers cannot overlap days - each must be between 00:00 and 23:59 |
To set the shutdown (school) timers follow these instructions
Note: In order for the timer to work the time and date must be set.
To set the time:
Press – Service mode button.
Press – 4
Press – 8
Press – 1 – the date is displayed.
Press - # to edit.
Use the keypad to type in the date (MM/DD/YYYY).
Press - # to save.
Press - * once - “Time/Date” is displayed
Press – 2 – the time is displayed.
Press - # to edit.
Use the keypad to type in the time (HH:MM:SS). The time is in military format (enter 100000 for 10:00:00 or enter 130000 for 1:00:00 PM).
Press - # to save.
Press - * once - “Time/Date” is displayed
Press – 3 for daylight savings setting.
Press - 3 again to edit.
Press – 3 until “North America” is displayed for automatic daylight savings adjustment.
Press - # to save.
Press - * until you are back to the message and out of the service mode.
To set the shutdown timer:
Press – Service Mode button.
Press – 7
Type – 2314 as password – “Advanced” displays.
Press – 8 for shutdown.
Press – 1 for Time Interval 1 (use 2 for interval 2 etc.) There are 4 time intervals and they cannot overlap.
Press – 3 for all items. You can also shut down by row (2) or individual selection (1).
Press - 3 to edit. The display should read “ON”.
Note: If the shutdown is on, the vending will stop for the interval set.
Press – # to save
Press - * once for interval 1.
Now we need to set the machine for the days to be shut down (shutdown timer on)
Press – 4 to enter the day menu.
Press – 1 until display reads “Every Day ON”.
Press – # to save.
Press - * once. Display will read “DAY”.
Vending will now shut down every day.
You may want the machine to be on during the weekends.
To set the weekend on:
Press – 7 twice until it says Saturday OFF, (remember OFF means the shutdown times will not apply).
Press - # to save.
Press - * once. Display will read “DAY”.
Press – 8 twice until it says Sunday OFF.
Press - # to save.
Press - * until display shows “Interval 1”.
Now we need to set the times.
Press – 5 for the start time.
Press – 5 again to edit the start time. The start time is when the machine will START the
shutdown period and the vending will be inhibited.
Press - # to edit.
Enter the start time using the keypad, Remember it is military time enter 1000 for 10:00 or enter
1300 for 1:00 PM.
Press - # to save.
Press - * until display shows “Interval 1”.
Press – 6 for stop time.
Press – 6 again to edit the stop time. The stop time is when the machine will STOP the shutdown
period and the vending will resume.
Press - # to edit.
Enter the stop time using the keypad, Remember it is military time enter 1300 for 1 PM or enter
1500 for 3:00 PM.
Press - # to save.
Press - * until display shows “Interval 1”.
Press – 9 until the display reads “Enable ON”. This is the most forgotten step. The timer must be
enabled for the shutdown to occur. At the end of the school year you can simply press 9 to turn
enable OFF and it will disable the timer but keep the settings for next year.
Press - # to save.
Press - * until display shows “Interval 1”.
Repeat this process for intervals 2-4 if needed. Remember they cannot overlap.
Press - * until you are back to your message and out of the service mode.
The vendor is now ready to shut down at the proper time and day. When the interval occurs, the
display will show “Vending Operation to Resume at “XX:XX” (the stop time set). If the set time
and day fall into the current time and day, the shutdown will occur on exiting the service mode
and the message will be shown.
